Troy Olsen goes on the road
27/07/2010
Troy Olsen will go on the road starting next month in the south, Midwest and west on his "Get Right Tonight Tour" in advance of the October release of his debut album.
The club tour launches in Charleston, S.C. and will hit more than 40 cities before the tour concludes on Nov. 20 in Denver.
Olsen was born and raised a son in his native Arizona. His musical influences Dwight Yoakam, Glen Campbell, Steve Earle and Bruce Springsteen. The singer/songwriter got his first guitar at age 12 and after high school began playing in various roadhouse bands throughout the southwest. Eventually he formed his own band and released music on his own. He has toured with his idol Yoakam, and even recorded an album with Yoakam's band after a chance meeting with Linda Ronstadt.
In 2003, Olsen decided to leave his life on the road and move to Nashville. Olsen dedicated himself to songwriting. He had songs cut by Blake Shelton (I'll Just Hold On) and Tim McGraw (Ghost Town Train).
Olsen signed to EMI Records Nashville in early 2009. Summer Thing, his debut single, (written by Olsen, Ben Hayslip, Jimmy Yeary) is currently on the country singles charts. Olsen also released a four-song EP in May including the single and Ghost Town Train.
