Bassist Barry Bales Wants to Know How You Move Your Bass

27/07/2010

Barry Bales is the bass player for Alison Krauss & Union Station and absolutely loves a good laugh. In order to support the release of his first Bass teaching video through AcuTab Productions, Bales and AcuTab have put together a fun contest involving bass players, Bales' fans and the process of moving a bass.

Fans can view the video made by Bales and participate in the contest at http://www.youtube.com. Viewers can then create their own video showing how they move their own bass around. Image quality is not important; it is the humor and creativity that counts in this contest. Videos can be shot with a video recorder, phone or any other filming device.

When entering videos, contestants can post their video as responses to Bale’s or upload them to YouTube and send the link to john@acutab.com with the subject line  "AcuTab Productions/Barry Bales Have Bass Will Travel Video Entry."

This contest will run for 30 days starting this week, and AcuTab Productions will choose six finalists, with the winner being chosen by Bales himself.

Each of the six finalists (which will be displayed on The Bluegrass Blog) will receive a set of D'Addario HH610 Helicore strings (retail value $250) and an autographed copy of Bale's AcuTab DVD ($35 value).

The Grand Prize winner will also receive a custom Colorado Case soft bass bag ($450 value) and the Bass Strummit registration and accommodations ($330 value). The winner will choose the colors for their bass case.

Full contest details and rules can be viewed at http://www.thebluegrassblog.com.
