THE SHIRES TO SUPPORT MICHAEL BUBLÉ AT BARCLAYCARD PRESENTS BRITISH SUMMER TIME HYDE PARK

26/03/2018

The biggest selling UK Country act of all time, The Shires, have today announced that they will be supporting Michael Bublé at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park on Friday 13th July.

After a hugely successful two years, the announcement comes as Ben and Crissie are on the brink of releasing their highly anticipated third album 'Accidentally on Purpose' on 20th April. Their first single released from the new album, 'Guilty', has gone straight into this week's BBC Radio 2 'B' playlist and is Record of the Week.

"We are hugely excited to be playing Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park and supporting the incredible Michael Bublé.

We recorded our new album ‘Accidentally on Purpose’ in Nashville, the home of Country Music, so to be performing our new music in Hyde Park which has so much musical history, feels like coming full circle. Headlining the second stage for thousands of fans in the sunshine, will be a very special moment for us”.

Their performance at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park will come just weeks after they finish their national tour of the UK, with dates throughout May and June.

Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, The Shires’ new album, combines massive Country-pop choruses and emotive words about their whirlwind journey, relationships and their time in the States. Increasingly, US Country music is taking influence from the mainstream with pop-inspired hooks, a sound that The Shires’ new album reflects.

The first single from the new album ‘Accidentally on Purpose’ had its world exclusive first play on BBC Radio 2 in early March.

“Our new album 'Accidentally on Purpose' is full of personal songs that really sums up the whirlwind journey we’ve been on together. From the day we met, we’ve been crazy dreamers with big plans, who really believed that Country could break into the UK mainstream. For all those dreams, we never imagined it would all happen so quickly and we’re so proud and excited to be releasing our third album.”

The new album features a track written by Ed Sheeran, a beautiful anthemic love song called ‘Stay The Night’ which was written by Ed after he met the band on a night out in America.

After an incredible two years, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes – hailing from Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire – have fast become a firm favourite in the music world. And now they’re making their mark in Nashville too.

The trailblazing duo will also be hitting the road this summer, performing their new music across the UK, including London’s Royal Albert Hall on 18th May.
