Brian Wright Opens for The Milk Carton Kids on Highly-Anticipated Spring North American Tour

25/03/2014

This spring, acclaimed troubadour Brian Wright joins The Milk Carton Kids on their highly anticipated North American Tour.

With his 2011 label debut hailed by No Depression as "perfect" and by American Songwriter as "brilliant," Wright unveiled his new album, Rattle Their Chains, last fall. The Waco, Tex., native and Nashville resident released his diverse new collection of plaintive ballads and rootsy rockers on Sugar Hill Records, which also released his last project, the wildly acclaimed House on Fire

"Brian Wright is yet another in a long line of sharp, impressive Texas songwriters, a line that reaches back through Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Steve Earle, all the way back to Buddy Holly and beyond, and his songs stand up with any out there."  --All Music

"With a voice a bit like Zevon, and a similar sort of dark humor in his lyrics, Wright is equally fascinating in a guitar-and-vocals setting or leading a hot rock 'n' roll band." --emusician.com

"Songs are important to him, as is evident in the craft and care that went into Rattle Their Chains. If work is a good place to hide, perhaps good work is a better place to hide, and if that's the case then Rattle Their Chains should be an ideal hiding spot." --The Tennessean

"...Wright turned some heads with his 2011 (Sugar Hill) debut and builds on that success with rock-solid sophomore slab Rattle Their Chains. Drawing inspiration from Bob Dylan and the Band, as well as Townes Van Zandt and Woody Guthrie, Wright has done himself proud." --Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
