Dillon Hodges To Release New Single “The Proof” November 20

Debut album, Rumspringa slated for 2013 release
 
Roots singer/songwriter Dillon Hodges is set to release “The Proof,” the first single from his upcoming debut album, Rumspringa, on November 20.  Hodges’ career hit a high point earlier this year, thanks to “Bullet for a Broken Heart,” a haunting Americana song whose music video attracted nearly 14,000 views on Youtube.
 
“The Proof” picks up where “Bullet for a Broken Heart” left off, mixing atmospheric folk music with the dual attack of Hodges’ smoky voice and frenetic fretwork. Dark, twangy and lively, it’s the story of a wanted man who runs from the law, only to find that “you can’t escape the hangman’s noose.”  Rumspringa, featuring “The Proof” and other original songs,will be released in early 2013.
 
A Nashville transplant, Hodges grew up near Muscle Shoals, AL, an area steeped in southern culture and musical history. He took a shine to bluegrass music and quickly established himself as a champion flat-picker, winning fourteen guitar competitions during his teenage years. As he grew, so did his own music; and Hodges began attracting an equal amount of attention for his old-school folk songs.
 
Hodges is now based in Nashville, where he has established a reputation as a virtuosic string player and soulful songwriter.
