Lori McKenna will release a new 6-song EP “Heart Shaped Bullet Hole” (MDM Recordings Inc./EMI Music Canada), on sale on October 16, 2012. Deeply personal and intricately melodic, the EP strikes the nostalgia of fond memories, past heartaches, optimism during hardship.  The EP will be available in digital format on iTunes.

In featured tracks like “Whiskey and Chewing Gum,” McKenna muses on the complicated nature of human relationships, singing “Shouldn’t it be easier to love someone, instead of all these whiskey nights and chewing gum.”  In contrast the title track of the EP, “Heart Shaped Bullet Hole,” with its highly energetic, fast paced rhythm speaks to the feeling of ease and liberation associated with mentally letting go of a past lover. 

McKenna has enjoyed an incredible career to date, arguably starting later in life, first performing at the age of 27.  Her discography currently includes 6 albums, multiple folk awards and earning the respect of many artists (including the likes of LeAnn Rimes, Sara Evans and Alison Krauss) and industry representatives.  Taylor Swift exclaimed in a recent New Yorker article, “... Lori McKenna, who I want to be when I grow up” a definitive compliment speaking to the great talents of McKenna and balance to her personal life.  Family is her greatest joy, a proud wife and mother of 5, McKenna resides in Boston with her family and splits her time writing in Nashville.  McKenna will continue to tour throughout America during the remainder of 2012 (dates below).
