You might also enjoy karaoke with Ted “Teddy Mac Elvis” McMullen that evening in the Music HallIt’s a busy month at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Fla where this weekend, Oct. 12-13, will feature the much loved Justin Case Band and a new band, Clay Brooker and the Bandits. This week also kicks off the fall Paddle Florida event from the SOSMP Thursday, Oct. 11. The Suwannee River Wilderness Trail paddle will begin at the SOSMP and end downstream. If you’re coming to the North Florida area for the long-time Pioneer Days Festival in Mayo this weekend, make reservations now and plan to spend your weekend at the SOSMP where you can return for dinner, dancing, great music and atmosphere and a wonderful, restful stay on the banks of the famous Suwannee River after the daytime festival. We would just love to have you visit with us! Justin Case Band, one of the most popular bands in North Florida and at the SOSMP, will be rocking the Music Hall Saturday night, Oct. 13. The band, composed of Monty Savitz, Ronnie Baldwin, Dow Young, Jerry Guy, Frank Freihofer and Bill Sheddan, has been playing country and Southern rock for years. Monty writes many of the songs but the band entertains with a wide variety of music during its performances. When the Justin Case Band is in the house, it’s wise to arrive early as they have a large following of fans who love this band as you will! Friday, Oct. 12, Clay Brooker and the Bandits will kick off the weekend in the Music Hall. Clay, a Waldo singer/songwriter/guitarist, formed his band, Clay Brooker and the Bandits, this year after working his way up the ladder in audition contests to win a slot on the lineup at the 2012 Suwannee River Jam at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. The band consists of Clay, Cory Brooker, Zach Brown, Hannah Emerson, Topper Fitch and Logan Humphries. The band plays country and Southern rock. Clay has always loved music but when he was 14, he really developed a passion for making and writing music. Coming from a background of country, rock, southern rock, blues, bluegrass and gospel, Clay is thankful for his God-given talent and looks forward to a long musical career. Some of his influences include George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Vern Gosdin, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Hank Williams, Jr. and Zac Brown Band. Come on out and enjoy Clay Brooker and the Bandits and don’t forget those dancing shoes! If you’re arriving on Thursday, the SOSMP has karaoke in the Music Hall every Thursday night (Mondays also) with one of America’s most outstanding Elvis Tribute Artists, Ted “Teddy Mac Elvis” McMullen. Doors open at 5 p.m. for dinner and shows begin at 7 p.m. when Teddy Mac Elvis is in the house! Come show off your musical talent, and you may just get a chance to hear Teddy Mac Elvis sing a few songs also! Doors to the Music Hall open at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday night for dinner, shows begin at 8 p.m. Admission is free. As always, the SOSMP’s SOS Café and Restaurant will be open and have available delicious food at regular prices along with nightly specials and a full service bar.
