Oz News Number 1 August, 2012 Here We Go - Again! Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson - At Last! G'Day Y'All, We're very excited that our foremost Americana 'stars' will be joining the largest Australian party yet for this year's Americanafest.  Our fourth touring party will feature 25 artists and 9 managers, and builds on last year's involvement which was headlined by Catherine Britt, Henry Wagons, Gleny Rae & Chris Altmann.  Kasey & Shane will be bringing their brand new album - 'Wreck & Ruin', and will be joined for official showcases by Jordie Lane, Felicity Urquhart and Caitlin Harnettt. In 2011, we were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the Nashville audiences and by the hospitality extended to us by the AMA and all delegates. The reaction to my reports back 'home' on this marvellous event has been amazing, and resulted in Sounds Australia's recent decision  confirming its long-term commitment.   As well as the official showcases, you'll have a chance to see some great new music at a number of specific 'Aussie' events. In your Goody Bag you'll find an Aussie Music 'passport' with details of, and links to, all our participating artists. You'll also find pages with details of the various Aussie gigs and a space to get a stamp when you attend the gigs. If you collect all the stamps, you'll be in the running for a major prize (iconic Aussie products + music from all artists).  The prize will be drawn at the Aussie BBQ at The Basement (Sunday 16th).    If you're leaving town before Sunday, get someone else to come along, get the stamp, and enter your passport in the draw.  It'll be worth it! Prizes! Bluebird Bookings Thurs 13th September - Sheraton Ballroom - 5-7pm  'Sisters Are Doing It..." (Passport Event) Sounds Australia hosts a special delegate reception to mark ongoing discussions between the City of Tamworth and Sister Cities of Nashville to formalise the relationship between Australia's 'Country Music Capital' and 'Music City USA'.  Performances & Prizes! Fri 14th September - Second Fiddle - Noon to 2pm (Free) Maton Presents 'Lunch With The Aussies' (Passport Event)  You'll need to buy drinks, but lunch will be provided by Australia's iconic guitar maker Maton. Sun 16th September  - The Basement - Noon to 10pm (Free) The Aussie BBQ (Passport Event & Prize Draw)  Stage Mothers has made this a feature of Sounds Australia events around the world. Come and support Nashville's own champion Aussie Rules Football team - The Nashville Kangaroos, who'll be doing the sausage sizzle. A perfect way to farewell the festival AND be in the draw for the great Passport prize draw!
