Travis allegedly had walked naked into a convenience store to buy cigarettes, eventually leading to a charge of a threatening to shoot a state trooper, according to the NBC web site in Dallas.

Police said Travis was involved in a single car crash near Tioga. Just before the accident, a convenience store clerk called police to report a man, later identified as Travis, had walked into the store naked to buy cigarettes. Travis apparently left annoyed and empty handed when asked how he would pay for them. Shortly thereafter, police received another call via 911 saying a man was found lying in the roadway. Police arrived and found Travis, who refused a Breathlyzer test, "with a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and several other signs of intoxication," according to the web site.

Travis was then arrested for driving while intoxicated. While being arrested, the singer threatened to shoot and kill troopers working the case. That resulted in a third degree felony charge for the threat, punishable by 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Travis was released Wednesday morning after posting bail.

Travis was arrested in February in the same area, charged with public intoxication.
