Mary Chapin Carpenter, Josh Turner top releases this week

Mary Chapin Carpenter and Josh Turner lead the list of new CDs out this week.

Turner is out with his fifth disc, "Punching Bag," which contains his current single Time Is Love. Turner continues opting for a more traditional country sound. Marty Stuart guests on Pallbearer with Iris Dement on backing vocals. Turner co-wrote 8 of the 11 tracks. Ricky Skaggs (For The Love of God) and Turner's wife and children (Jennifer, Hampton, Colby and Marion Turner) also contribute on Find Me A Baby.

Carpenter recorded "Ashes and Roses" in Nashville and produced the 13-song disc along with Matt Rollings. The backing band was Rollings (piano), Russ Kunkel (drums), Duke Levine (guitar) and Glenn Worf (bass), with whom she has worked with in the past. James Taylor duets with Carpenter on Soul Companion.

Arkansas trio Edens Edge release their self-titled debut on Big Machine Records. The current single is Too Good To Be True. Hannah Blaylock, Cherrill Green and Dean Berner comprise Edens Edge. The disc contains 13 songs in a deluxe edition, containing 3 extra songs.
